SDC3b power spectrum inputs

The first SDC3b inputs are sets of cylindrical Epoch of Reionization (EoR) power spectra from an SKA-Low simulated observation. Three sets are currently envisaged:

Foreground-free datasets

Two sets containing only the EoR signal, instrumental noise for a 100h observation and a low-level of instrumental systematics, but no foreground residuals. The two sets differ in the EoR realisation, EoR astrophysical parameters, and EoR simulation code used. Additionally, the noise in two cases is an independent realisation. These two sets are identified by the dataset ID “PS1” and “PS2”.

Foreground-contaminated dataset (TBC)

We also foresee the delivery of a further dataset, generated with one of the EoR modelling codes used above, which is generated in the same way as before but in addition contains a small contribution from residual foreground contamination (as detailed in section 2.2). This dataset is identified with the ID “PS3”.

SDC3b imaging inputs (TBC)

A final SDC3b input will consist of an Epoch of Reionization (EoR) imaging product from an SKA-Low simulated observation. This dataset will consist of an observed EoR cube in (deg, deg,MHz) units covering a field of view of 8X8 deg and a frequency range of 151-196 MHz range. This dataset will contain the EoR signal, instrumental noise corresponding to a 1000h (TBC) observation, and residual foreground contamination. The dataset ID for this input is “IM1”.
